Our
Ministry History
At the age of 14, on a Sunday
night after the Allentown Camp Meeting, Sis.
Shirley Lester was preaching at my home church.
Bro. Jimmy McDuffie was the Pastor at that time.
She was preaching about Samuel taking the horn of
oil and anointing David to be King of Israel. She
called me up to the altar to stand in as David and
she took the horn of oil and held it over my head
and the Holy Ghost came upon me and the Lord put
His blessing on my life that night.
It was six years later, at the age of twenty that
God spoke to my heart to preach the Gospel. I
accepted the call, after wrestling with God for
about two months and announced to my Pastor, Larry
Peters that God had chosen me to preach the
Gospel. I was placed as Youth Pastor of the Tanner
Williams Holiness Church in December 1987, where I
served for almost three years.
In October of 1990 the Lord dealt with my heart to
go full time in evangelism. I quit my job without
one revival and stepped out on faith and God met
my needs and kept me busy preaching for more than
three years. We preached in thirteen states, and
saw many saved, sanctified, and filled with the
Holy Ghost. Many others were healed and encouraged
during our evangelism.
In January of 1994, God dealt with my heart to
settle down and help a pastor in a church. I
didn't know where that God was going to send me,
but once again, I took a leap of faith and started
canceling revivals. I felt like calling Bro. Rufus
Caraway in Lake Placid, Florida for a revival ,and
I told my wife that we would be staying there as
his Youth Pastor when we went. We started there
the second week of January. The first week into
revival, Bro Caraway asked me to pray about being
his Youth Pastor. My wife couldn't believe what
she was hearing, but I told him we would pray
about it. We felt like it was the will of God and
stayed six and a half years as Youth Pastor,
Assistant Pastor, and then as Pastor of New Life
Holiness Church.
We moved to Hamilton Ohio in September of 2000,
where my wife was originally from. We worked with
Bro. L. L. Collins for a year and a half as his
Assistant Pastor. They decided to terminate the
position in January of 2003.
I still had a burden for the city of Hamilton and
Fairfield Ohio and felt like that is where God
wanted me. A group of people that wanted to start
a Holiness Church called me and asked me to pastor
them, and I felt the burden to do so.
They started what is now Victory Pentecostal
Tabernacle, where I have resided as pastor since
April 28, 2003. We have seen God bless the church
and we have went from sixty when we started to
almost ninety as of June 2004.

Our
Family History
I was born and raised in Tanner
Williams, which is west of Mobile, Alabama. I
attended Tanner Williams Holiness Church all my
life. I had some of the best pastors that a young
man could ask for. My first pastor was Bro. Hiram
McDuffie, Bro. George Allen followed him, Bro.
Jimmy McDuffie followed him, Bro. Larry Peters
followed him, and Bro. Donnie Williamson followed
him.
My wife was raised in Hamilton Ohio where Bro. L.
L. Collins was her pastor. She traveled with her
mom and dad, Larry and Irma Peters while they
evangelized, and then settled down to pastor
Tanner Williams Holiness Church.
Shortly after God called me to preach I began
praying for God to give me a wife. The Lord spoke
to my heart and told me that I was to marry
Jennifer Peters, the daughter of my Pastor, Larry
and Irma Peters. We dated for about six months and
was married on November 3, 1989.
We were in Lake Placid Florida when God blessed us
six years later with a beautiful baby girl. She
was born on September 16, 1995 in Lake Wales
Florida. We named her Andrea Lauren Pierce.
Two years later on December 28, 1997 we were
blessed with another little girl, at the same
hospital ,in Lake Wales Florida, that we named
Jessica Lynn Pierce. Now we had two little
Floridians.
Two months after we moved to Hamilton, Ohio, on
November 3, 2000, on our wedding anniversary my
wife woke me up at five o'clock in the morning and
said,
"Happy Anniversary darling, get up and get ready
to take me to the hospital, we have a baby coming.
God blessed us with a 8 lb. 14 oz. baby boy that
we named Jadon Watson Pierce.
My wife is now expecting our fourth child, which
is due July 23rd 2004.
The Church Vision
It is my desire to have a
church that has a vision to reach souls. I firmly
believe that "without a vision the people perish."
We the people of Victory Pentecostal Tabernacle
have a vision to reach beyond our families and
friends, and minister to the needs of those who
cannot help themselves.
Jesus said, "The whole need not a Physician, but
they that are sick." It is my desire to provide a
place of worship where people can feel the
presence of God and feel their liberty to receive
what they need for soul, spirit, and body. For
"where the spirit of the Lord is there is
liberty."
It is my desire to preach and teach doctrine and
biblical Holiness. John 4:23-24 But the hour
cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers
shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:
for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24)
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must
worship him in spirit and in truth.
It is my desire to be faithful to the congregation
that the Lord has entrusted me with. I would like
to do my best as a pastor to be the spiritual
shepherd that they need to teach and instruct them
in the ways of God. I want to have the message of
the hour for God's people to help them through the
spiritual battles that they will face.
It is our desire to purchase land or a building
that is large enough to start a Christian School.
I would like to have a Pentecostal Holiness School
for our children to attend and be taught the same
doctrine that we teach in our church. I believe
that God's will is for us to teach and train our
children when they are young. I was affiliated
with the Christian school in Lake Placid Florida,
and it changed my views on Christian schools. I
don't believe they are an option in the hour that
we live in today, I believe they are our
responsibility.
